10th October 2021 – 28th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Dear Parishioners, I am here.

It has been a very good and interesting experience being here as your Parish Priest in Bow.

I have had an opportunity to walk around the Parish, to meet many of you, to visit and work at the Food Bank, to visit the Shut-ins and generally get a feel of the Community and People.

I am very honoured and humbled to be asked to be your Parish Priest and I hope that we can continue to build on the work of my many predecessors. They have journeyed with you to this point and I am continuing the journey.

I see my time here as one of service and growing in our faith journey, in working ‘in the garden’ to continue planting seeds and caring for those that have been planted over the years.

I am very impressed with the ‘gardening’ concept of the Parish, particularly the Laudato Si group of ladies who care for the Earth and gardens at the church. I am impressed by the parishioners who have their patch, that they care for to make the surroundings welcoming. The joy of watching parishioners care for the infrastructure of the church, the spiritual life of the church, the catechesis and on going formation is a good base to carry on.

I thank you all for the welcome and I pray that we will continue this journey, in the Kingdom/Garden, as we strive to serve God and each other.

I pay honour to all the priests who have given their service to Our Lady and St Catherine. God bless you for your ministry.

Fr Howard
